Michael
Goldstein, Principal, MSG Communications
Michael Goldstein has been providing video-based media training and message
through MSG Communications since 1999. He prepares clients for in-person, telephone and television interviews, press tours,
tradeshows and crisis situations.
The success attained by Mr. Goldstein as a media trainer is based on his 15
years of work as a business, high-tech and general interest journalist with the Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, Presentations,
Variety, US, LA Weekly, Successful Meetings and The Journal of Commerce. He was also editor in chief of PC LapTop.
A graduate of Princeton University and the American Film Institute, Mr. Goldstein provides an inside understanding
of how journalists think, what they look for and how to best frame a company's story for the media and public. Working
closely with public relations executives, Mr. Goldstein helps spokesmen develop key messages on a company and its products,
management, technologies and market opportunities.
Mr. Goldstein has provided media training services to companies
that include Broadcom, SanDisk, Texas Instruments, Compaq, Microsoft WebTV, Toshiba, Seiko and National Semiconductor (in
the U.S., Japan and Hong Kong), among many others.
Mr. Goldstein leverages his vast media experience to coach and
grill executives in personalized training sessions. Interviews are videotaped, replayed and critiqued in a positive, supportive
atmosphere. Mr. Goldstein enjoys teaching how to address probing questions from journalists, how to best present the company
agenda, and appropriate dress and demeanor.
With these tools and techniques, Mr. Goldstein helps executives learn
to address questions, advance the agenda for the interview and redirect difficult questions, so they can face the media and
audiences with confidence.
